Purpose of the disc

This disc was made for children speaking Tének. Tének is an indigen language from Mexico. Tsakam son means little music. Children who do not speak Tenek could get in contact to this language in a playful manner.

Antonia Cesareo Pérez

She was born in the city of San Luis Potosí in México but grew up until the age of three in the small village Puhuitzé/Aquismón in the Huasteca region (San Luis Potosí) where she lerned Tének with her family. With the age of 12 she started playing músic. Since 1997 she joined the coir of the San Luis Potosí músic school, which at the same time was playing with the sinfonic orchestra. In 2000 she finished her músic studies. She worked for several years with children only a few weeks old up to the prescolar age. In 2004 her project about promocion of the Tének language by músic was approved and she started with the work for the CD which is presented here.

Ensamble Ejatal i tsakam / Soul of children

The Esamble was founded in 2004 by Antonia Cesareo Pérez for the purpose of producing this CD. Instruments are either directly from the indigenous regions like guitar or small violins or otherwise used for education of children like piano or guitar.
